{Month of Thanks} I’m Thankful For My Readers

Photo via Pinterest

Ya’ll are the best, but you already knew that. I love sharing inspiration and tidbits about my life with you because without you, this blog would seize to be. I love you all. I’m always open to suggestions and ideas for my site. So, let me hear it!

{Month of Thanks} I’m Thankful For Cousins

Today’s my cousin D’s birthday. She’s having an amazing scavenger hunt party in Grand Central Station. I wish I could be there to celebrate with her because she’s like a sister to me. We are the only two girl cousins and although we grew up in different cities, we are somehow very similar and have moments when we just get each other. I love her dearly and hope she has a wonderful time celebrating!

{Month of Thanks} I’m Thankful For Family

Although I’m not celebrating in California with my family (we’re all a bit nerdy thus the robots), A’s parents are coming over today to our new home for our own celebration. I’ll be freaking out all day until the food is served. I hope you’re spending the day with loved ones and lots of pie! Happy Thanksgiving!

For US readers, where and with whom are you celebrating Thanksgiving? What are you thankful for?

{Month of Thanks} I’m Thankful For Our New Home

I’ve mentioned before that I bought my first home this past September. I feel grateful every day to be able to come home to a place of my own. As I slowly unpack all my boxes (and I emphasize slowly), I feel excited to put my spin on each room and wonder how my things will blend into this house. I can’t wait to make new traditions and memories in this new place.

{Month of Thanks} I’m Thankful For Saturdays

We’ve been working overtime and Saturdays for the past two weekends, so you can imagine my relief when I found out today we are off the hook this week! Yay for Saturdays. More time to unpack, rake, plan for Thanksgiving, and relax.

What do you have planned for Saturday?

{Month of Thanks} I’m Thankful For Thanksgiving Recipes

Seriously. Since this is our first official Thanksgiving, I’m freaking out and I’m clinging to every recipe I read and see. I normally have the urge to read a lot of recipes, but this is more than average. If you have tried and trues that you love, send them my way!

DIY Paper Party Patterns Printables

{Freebie Friday} Message Flip Books

I remember making flips books in art class when I was young. I made one of a bursting star and I thought they were just about the coolest things ever. I wanted to incorporate this fun in a little message flip book. These would be so cute as a card substitute, the thank you’s as part of the favors for a kid’s party, or just to brighten someone’s day. You can’t go wrong. Everyone reverts back to a smiling kid when a flip book is involved!

  • Template
  • Cardstock and/or copy paper
  • Scissors or paper cutter
  • Stapler
  • Decorative tape
  • Optional: Pliers

  1. Click on template to open.
  2. Print onto card stock.
    • If you are making a bunch, you can just print the cover on card stock & the pages on copy paper.
  3. Cut along solid lines.
    • This is the perfect job for a paper cutter because all the liens are straight. You can also cut through several papers at once.
  4. Place a cover set around each set of pages and straighten.
  5. Staple the edge of the pages together.
  6. Flatten the staple with pliers, if desired, and cover with decorative tape.
  7. Flip through & smile!

This week we’ve:

Have you ever made a flip book? Do you like them?

{Wish I Was Wednesday} Emma Block

Okay. Every time I see UK based illustrator Emma Block’s work, I just smile. Her illustration and collages are not only cute and imaginative, but have such character. She definitely has a style and she’s constantly experimenting with more mediums and materials. I really like her newest combination of photos combined with little illustrated people at the park. It was so hard to narrow it down to just a few samples to share with you. I tried my best! You’ll have to visit the links below to view more.

{Color Palette} Jill Stuart SS2012 Collection

I know it’s a bit early for a Spring Summer collection, but I couldn’t help swooning over the beautiful and unexpected color combinations. I figure they could help with inspiring holiday decorating, packaging, or even outfits from your own wardrobes. I will share a few since I couldn’t decide!
