Today, instead of an artist I admire, I wanted to introduce you to a brand I admire, SOLO Eyewear. Not only are their bamboo shades stylish works of art, but their cause is wonderful too. Every purchase helps fund eye care for people in need. Each pair of sunglasses are handcrafted and prescription friendly! Plus, the ones with designs are hand painted by the artist. Amazing!

We are headed to Cabo this weekend to meet up with some of my best friends. I’m so excited. After the crazy hours at work for the past month, it’s much needed for both of us! In the mean time, I’m going to enjoy some beach time, lounging in the sun, and shopping so I’ll be back posting on Wednesday. I’m in total resort mode thus the banana leaves! I’m loving their bold pattern flair!
PS: If you’re more into banana print, check out this post.
Did you go anywhere this summer? Are you a fan of banana leaf print?
I’ve kayaked once in the past with A’s parents, but I’ve yet to try my hand in an old fashioned row boat. These beautifully worn oars have summer thoughts written all over them. (via Prepfection)
Have you ever rowed before?

Summer’s all about the bright sun and bountiful fruit trees. I can’t wait for the tress I planted to bear fruit so that I can eat them sun warmed and fresh off the branch (via Bell Bottom Blues).
What’s your favorite summer fruit?
My mom and I always imagined a trip through Italy. Sightseeing and tasting deliciousness along the way. The thought of playing outside with colorful Bocce balls brought these ideas all back to me. What better way to pretend being there this summer than with some housemade gelato and Italian leather sandals.

It’s supposed to finally be heating up here in the Pacific NW and I can’t wait! We’ve been going between sunshine and sprinkles for a few weeks now (I guess because we got let off easy rainwise this spring). My mom is visiting from California first the first time since I bought the house, so it’ll be giggles and sightseeing this weekend. In the mean time, I hope ya’ll are enjoying the weather and if not, maybe indulge in some retail therapy with these items that remind me of hot tropical places.
How are you embracing tropical print?
It’s been perfect kite flying weather lately. I’ve flown one as a kid, but I’m not sure if I could manage now. But, with this awesome Fredricks & Mae version, I might just be convinced to try again. We’ve been trying to bike around more, so these coordinating accessories would be perfect for a ride to the park and a kite attempt!

For Father’s Day yesterday, I made mixed berry shortcakes for our little BBQ outside. This little color palette is making me crave more today! The little sugar crystals just glisten on the bright red. (via I Bleed Cake)
